I live in Texas in the United States of America, prefer to answer to my surname. Born and raised in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan region, I've graduated from a Performance Arts High school with a Double Major in Music Composition & Vocal Performance, minor in Italian. I have an International Baccalaureate in English Literature, and have studied Contemporary American Literature, non-Western melodic structure and Linguistics. I also speak passable Hebrew, colloquial Spanish, operatic Italian and very poor German and Arabic.
I am willing to teach via online classroom, on Skype or through a purely email-based reading system, depending on the proclivities and learning style of my students.
My methods include, ear-training, key identification, piano equivalence, reading references, musical pieces to listen to for review, and written tests.
As a teacher, my goal is to impart knowledge through piano, singing, spoken word, mini-lectures, instrumental arrangements and music history.
I've been giving lessons for over a decade.
I've taught 20-30 students, including my own child and members of my family and former band-mates.
My younger students have learned to play pieces for recital, have analyzed Bach and gained sight-reading skills. My older students have 'CLEP'ed' out of their freshman, sophomore and junior music theory classes at a collegiate level.
