About Ben Bullett

As an active professional musician I am proficient in reading music for guitar, working in musical theatre, working with signed and independent artists, music industry marketing, songwriting, transcribing, teaching theory as well as guitar in all styles and bass to a professional working level. I hold a Bachelor of Music degree in guitar performance and contemporary music from The Academy Of Contemporary Music, whereupon graduation I became a member of its teaching faculty. I have been teaching privately for 6 years, completing lesson plans and tailoring private lessons to the student’s needs. I have experience tutoring for ABRSM and Rockschool grades 1 - 8, including grade 5 theory and university preparation for music BMus and BA degrees. Having graduated from The Academy of Contemporary Music with a Bachelor of Music (2nd class hons) degree in guitar performance, I have studied under and lectured alongside world-renowned musicians and tutors qualified from Berklee College of Music, Musicians Institute and more. Such as Giorgio Serci (Prince, Jools Holland), Michael Casswell (Brian May, Lick Library, iGuitar), Carl Orr (Billy Cobham, George Duke), Jon Bishop (Shakin' Stevens, The Bodyguard, Guitar Techniques columnist), Toby Drummond (The Lion King, Wicked, Billy Elliot), Frank Tontoh (George Michael, Amy Winehouse, Seal, Craig David), Paul Geary (Nik Kershaw) and Brian Henry (Soul II Soul, Omar, D'Angelo) Roger Taylor (Queen), Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers). My dissertation focused on the comparative analysis of 3 contemporary jazz guitarists, accompanied by a tuition book I wrote on modern jazz vocabulary. Students study or have studied under my mentoring for a range of reasons. Some just want to play for fun and others want to make a career out of music. Both are valid reasons to begin your journey learning. I hope to encourage that whatever reason you choose to learn for, the more you enjoy it, the faster you will improve.
