About Annie
Hi! I'm Annie, a songwriter, performer and artist with a passion for helping people unlock their creativity and authentic voice through music. I've been playing and performing for 15 years and teaching on and off for 6. I started teaching private music lessons after being approached by students who were looking for a way to deepen their experience in music, not just mindlessly playing/singing scales.

Learning the language of music is one of the best gifts you can give yourself at any age. I've had the pleasure of teaching beginners and intermediate students from all walks of life throughout my own journey as a musician and there is no better feeling than getting to witness someone nurture their love of playing.
My lessons are built around what drives your love of music. As a predominantly self-taught musician, I understand the importance of developing the ear so you don't just understand what you're playing and practicing, but why. I take my students through music theory concepts in practical form by using your favourite songs as our guides. We'll identify and breakdown the techniques your favourite artists are using so you can replicate them in your own practice.
From understanding fundamental music theory so you can strum along at the next campfire singalong to tackling the basics of songwriting, or unlocking and training your natural singing voice to take on the mic, my teaching methodology is geared towards building lasting musicianship.
So, whether you're strumming a guitar, thumbing a bass or singing for the first time or you're a cozy player looking to dive deeper into their craft, I'd love to pass on all that I've learned on and off the stage over the last 15 years!
