About Shanmukh
Hi, I'm your Biology & Science tutor — and honestly, I'm still a student myself, which is exactly why I can teach the way I wish I'd been taught.
I recently scored a 7 (the top grade) in IB MYP Year 5 Biology, and science isn't just a subject I'm good at — it's what I want to build my life around. I'm heading into the IB Diploma with Higher Level Physics and Chemistry, working toward a degree in Physical Oceanography at the University of Sydney. So when I teach Biology, you're learning from someone who genuinely loves this stuff and is chasing it all the way to university.
A few things about me beyond the grades:
- I compete in the World Scholar's Cup, where I've trained to break down big, messy questions and argue clear answers — the same skill that helps me explain tricky Biology concepts simply.
- I'm building real projects too, including a science-communication YouTube channel on ocean physics. Teaching complex ideas in a way that actually clicks is something I practice constantly.
- I love turning "I don't get it" into "oh, that makes sense!" — I focus on real understanding, everyday examples, and building confidence, not just memorizing for a test.
What I teach:
- IB MYP Biology & general Science (Grades 6–10)
- Middle school and early high school Biology
- Exam prep, revision, homework help, and assignment support
Because I recently sat through the exact same syllabus, I know where students get stuck — and how to get them unstuck fast. Lessons are online and flexible around your schedule, and I'm happy to start with a short intro session so we can see if we're a good fit.
Message me and let's make Biology your favorite subject. :)

IB Biology & Science Tutor | Scored a 7 in MYP Year 5 Biology
Hi! I'm a student who recently scored a 7 (the top grade) in IB MYP Year 5 Biology, and I now help younger students understand science the way I learned to love it — clearly, simply, and without the stress.
What I teach:
- IB MYP Biology and general Science (Years 1–5 / Grades 6–10)
- Middle school and early high school Biology
- Exam preparation, revision, and help with assignments
How I teach:
I break tough topics into simple, everyday explanations. I focus on actually understanding concepts instead of memorizing, using diagrams, real-life examples, and practice questions. Since I recently went through the same syllabus myself, I know exactly where students get stuck — and how to get them unstuck.
Why learn with me:
- Recently scored the top grade (7) in MYP Year 5 Biology
- Relatable, patient, and student-friendly approach
- Flexible online sessions that fit around your schedule
- Focus on building confidence, not just grades
Lessons are online via video call, and I'm happy to start with a quick intro session so we can see if it's a good fit. Message me and let's get started!
