About Emma
Hi students and families! Before we start working together I want to assure you I’m a dedicated and approachable student who understands that everyone learns math differently. I want my students to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and taking their time to fully understand a concept.
I attend a top private school in Manhattan, New York and have been excelling in accelerated math classes since 8th grade, including Algebra I, Algebra II, and Geometry Honors classes.
My goal isn’t just to help students get the right answer—it’s to help them become more confident and independent in math. Whether you’re struggling with a specific topic, catching up on classwork, or preparing for a test, I’ll work with you to make the material feel more manageable and fun!

I believe math becomes much easier when you actually understand why something works instead of just memorizing formulas. My goal is to make students feel comfortable asking questions and to explain difficult concepts in a clear, simple way.
During a typical lesson, I’ll have students give me a topic they are struggling with and prepare questions they have on it. I’ll explain the concept step-by-step with notes, work through a few examples together, and have the student try problems on their own while I guide them when needed. I’ll adjust each lesson based on the student’s strengths, weaknesses, and learning style.
What sets me apart is that I’m a student too, so I understand how confusing certain topics can be and how frustrating it is when a teacher’s explanation just doesn’t click. For each topic, I will teach students difference methods of problem solving until we find one that makes sense for the student. I also help with note taking and creating helpful study guides for test prep.
I tutor students in Algebra I, Algebra II, and Geometry, including students who need help with homework, want to strengthen their understanding of a topic, or are preparing for a quiz or test. I’m happy to work with students at different skill levels and tailor lessons to what they need most. I am so excited to work with you!
