About Isabel

Hi! I’m Isabel, a university student currently studying Nursing at Keele University. I have a deep love for sociology and am passionate about helping others see the beauty of this subject. Sociology offers incredible insights into how society functions, how culture shapes our lives, and how individuals and groups influence each other. My goal as a tutor is not only to help students improve their grades but also to ignite a curiosity and appreciation for sociology that goes beyond exams.

Outside of tutoring and university, I have a few hobbies that keep me balanced and motivated. I'm a huge fan of Formula 1, especially the McLaren team, I quite often discuss all the race antics with my friends. I also enjoy reading, especially books that delve into sociology, psychology, and culture, but I’m always up for exploring different genres as well. Finally, cooking is something I’m really passionate about. I find it to be a creative and relaxing outlet, whether I’m trying new recipes or experimenting with my own twists on classic dishes. These activities help me stay grounded and inspired, and I look forward to sharing my enthusiasm for sociology with you.

About the lesson

As a university student myself, I understand the challenges of navigating complex material because of this my tutoring approach emphasizes a personalized learning experience tailored to each student’s unique needs and learning style. I focus on building foundational understanding, encouraging critical thinking, and applying real-world examples to make concepts relatable. I use a mix of interactive discussions, problem-solving exercises, and practical applications to ensure thorough comprehension. This approach promotes active engagement, making lessons both enjoyable and effective.

Each tutoring session typically lasts an hour, allowing enough time to cover key topics in depth while keeping the lesson manageable and focused. Longer sessions can be arranged if needed, especially for more advanced topics or intensive exam preparation.

Currently, I’m pursuing a degree in nursing and have been tutoring for 2 years. I currently hold an A* at A-level sociology, and since completing this I have continued to explore and broaden my knowledge, I have the upmost adoration for sociology and love spreading my knowledge to anyone who listens.
