About Thomas

Hi, my name is Thomas I enjoy physics and maths, especially physics which is my passion to be honest as it’s how maths works in the real world as understanding how your a radio transmitter works, how a nuclear power plant works or how the universe exists (and the mysteries of the universe that we can’t answer) , all are fascinating for me. I would like to help students better understand the concepts in physics behind the equations and maths as this makes revision less boring memorisation and help you get better results. For maths it’s more abstract so practice makes perfect, going over questions and helping understand the method and reasoning will give great results. I would like to tutor to give you great results and good understanding without hopefully too much frustration or boredom, maybe even you may enjoy learning and understanding these topics by the end of this! To teach I think it’s best to try and get the students to answer questions together until they can answer the questions independently instead of lecturing/telling them what to do and then getting them to answer questions by themselves. For my qualifications: GCSEs (all 7s and above) Physics & Maths both 8 Physics A level (A) Biology A level (A) Maths A level (C) Currently studying nuclear engineering, with part 1 (year 1) complete with score equivalent to a first. For physics A level I’m very familiar with AQA and for maths GCSE I’m familiar with edexcel & aqa. I would say pure maths is my personal strongest subject, however I don’t currently do statistics and probabilities which I why I don’t tutor maths a levels and also I wasn’t good at them to be honest.
