About Andrew
Why I want to teach:
- As a high schooler who lacked the ability to have a tutor myself due to a working-class background and seeing actively how people with one were much better at handling workloads in University I got to understand just how necessary having someone who will work directly with you is not only for that subject but so you understand how University professor and tutoring systems work
- As someone who has worked a lot recently in roles where I have to be the representative of students to some form of academic institution I have great experience with communication to students from all walks of life and with all forms of needs
- I myself am on the waiting list for diagnosis of ADHD and understand how students who don't understand things at first are left behind without help due to the pace of the Scottish system and so want to help provide a structure for those who need it to achieve what they are actually capable of despite the system being actively against their teaching needs

When teaching I follow a couple of ideas:
-Learning must be done at a pace set by the student (Setting goals and time frames for when certain things should be done with tasks to help them understand that they are comfortable with)
-Keep things simple (The goal of the student is to understand, if something is difficult to grasp then working around what they already understand to help them grasp what they don't already is needed)
My Qualifications:
- National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher level Mathematics at A grade.
- National 5 and Higher level Physics at A grade.
- Graduate of Law from University of Dundee with an emphasis in Space Law - Former president of Social Sciences, Humanities, Teaching and Law at University of Dundee
Who lessons are for:
- GCSE/National 5 level or Higher Level students who want help understanding the concepts laid out in the work - Always happy to help students with learning disabilities like ADHD or Autism
Length of lesson:
- Flexible, willing to work around schedules, typically around 50 minutes but always willing to work around what is needed

My rates are below minimum wage at the current time due to the fact that I am unknown in the space and want to establish myself at a minimum, however do not be alarmed if they are raised closer to being at least minimum wage once I have established students, alongside that I may charge a little extra if I have to travel to locations. Depending on the location and availability I will make that very clear at the end of the first session (This is simply for travel costs and the like, I am human at the end of the day and always want to help but can't be doing so at a physical and financial detriment to myself unfortunately)
