About Lela

My name is Lela, and I grew up in London before continuing my schooling in France. Over time, many of my friends asked me to help them with their English lessons or simply to talk with them to improve their fluency. When I saw how well it was helping their grades and their baccalaureate exams, I signed up here to tutor more students. I know how redundant lessons can be, so I prefer to offer a more informal introduction to the language, while also building an extensive vocabulary that boosts academic results. By introducing students to English-speaking culture through their personal interests (music, film, literature, pop culture, art, etc.), my goal is for English to flow much more naturally and enjoyably! I should mention that I speak British English, but I can adapt to American English if needed (I can even take on the accent if it helps with listening comprehension haha).

About the lesson

Bilingual and native in both French and English, I offer English tutoring for French students at collège and lycée. I have a strong academic vocabulary in both languages, which is a real help with schoolwork. I also know the natural, everyday English that's actually spoken and that school rarely teaches. Because I grew up with both languages, I can explain English through the vocabulary, cultural references and humour French students already know, which makes lessons clearer and more fun. I can help with brevet and bac preparation, keep students on track with their English classes, help with homework, or simply hold relaxed conversations in English. My goal is for each student to feel comfortable with the language and develop their skills, giving them a strong advantage for their future career. :)
