About Shuyao
I came to study in the U.S. in 2013. I have a photojournalism bachelor degree from Penn State University and recently finished my MFA degree at NYU graduate film, which is ranked top 3 film school in the U.S.
I have worked as a reporter in college, and my short film has been selected by a number of festivals. That's why I have ample experience communicating with people of various backgrounds.
I'm super fun, dynamic, patient and flexible!

Before we get started, I will chat and get to know you, including your background, level and goals in learning Chinese. Then we will discuss your personalized study plan accordingly!
If you don't have any specific goal, my sessions will focus on Chinese (Mandarin) speaking which includes introduction to Pinyin, pronunciation correction and improvement, Chinese idiom & slangs, etc.
My session will also cover some basics of Chinese culture (especially the food!) and history.
I can also offer my students sessions about Chinese cinema based on students' interests.
