About Paul

Hello! I am delighted to introduce myself as your future tutor. My name is Paul and I am passionate about both learning and teaching. Originally from Australia, I am a native English speaker and hold a PhD in Neurobiology. For the past four years I have been living and working as a postdoctoral researcher in Cologne.

As a scientist, I am passionate about discovering new knowledge, but I am equally passionate about sharing that knowledge with others. This drive to spread understanding and connect with people is at the core of why I find teaching so fulfilling.

I really enjoy interacting with new people and engaging with different backgrounds, which makes each lesson a unique and enriching experience. My extroverted and easy-going nature helps me create a positive and engaging learning environment. I believe that learning should be an enjoyable journey, and my goal is to make each session both effective and enjoyable for you.

Whether it's improving your English skills or tackling complex topics in neurobiology, my approach combines structured learning with a natural conversational flow to make complex topics accessible and relatable. I'm here to support you and look forward to sharing my knowledge and passion with you on this educational journey.

About the lesson

As a native English speaker, I place great emphasis on creating a natural conversational flow in my lessons, helping you practice the language in real-life contexts. Each lesson is structured and combines traditional teaching methods with modern approaches to ensure effective learning. I have experience teaching maths and science to university and school students, which enhances my ability to teach English naturally and effectively.

As I am extroverted and easy-going, I love connecting with people from different backgrounds, which makes our lessons engaging and enjoyable. My German is at B1/B2 level, which actually has a positive impact on our lessons as it encourages us to communicate mainly in English and completely immerses you in the language.

While my main focus is on helping students improve their English, I also offer advanced tutoring in Neurobiology for Masters students or advanced Bachelor students. My expertise in this area allows me to provide comprehensive support on complex topics within the subject.
