About Heidi
As a Certified Educator who grew up near the Mexican border in AZ and Tx, using English and Spanish came naturally to me. As a special educator who has decades of teaching experience with children from birth through 3rd grade. I have worked with many children who began with no language functioning but for a few basic words to functional communication including those with Autism or who were ESL learners. What a joy it is to see that growth in communication!

I approach each child knowing that success is the best confidence builder. This is important because language development requires confidence in a person's ability to communicate and be understood. I ensure instruction is success-focused with opportunities to meet challenges with the confidence and success their daily instruction provides them. I provide parents with activities and suggestions they can do outside of class time to ensure the language developed is being used functionally in the daily life of the child. It is my job to be a cheerleader for both the learner and the family members supporting their language use. We will make progress together!
