About Emma
Born in England, with accentless spoken English, I spent my childhood in Florida, Canada and New Jersey. I have an MA Joint Hons in Modern Languages and EU Studies from Edinburgh University, including a year spent studying at the Institut de Sciences Politiques in Paris. I worked for over a decade in London, in the telecommunications and data communications sectors, with a clientèle of banks and other financial institutions. After moving to France, where I am now based, I spent several years in Real Estate, before deciding to combine my acquired skills and experience to specialize in teaching English.

Hello! Feeling unsure about your spoken English? Do you have an urgent requirement to improve, for professional reasons? Join my former students, and gain confidence in your exercise of this extremely useful language. Reinforce and your acquired level of competence, communicate more easily whilst travelling, for presentations, during meetings, via Visio or on the telephone, and gain access to the extended possibilities of the internet.
I have an modern, open-minded pedagogic methodology, developed over the course of my international travels and my work experience. I offer one-on-one courses through distance learning, by Visio or telephone, or in person. I specialise in Business English. Depending on individual needs, I offer courses that offer targeted coaching- to improve comprehension, conversation, pronunciation and enunciation, or to work on consolidating and perfecting the current level of fluency.
To these linguistic elements can also be added, depending on the student's objectives: socio-cultural specificities relating to the UK or the US, techniques for effective telephone telecommunication, presentation techniques, or the management of meetings and conference calls.
A course content strategy is developed in consultation with each student, in order to achieve the learning objectives. The curriculum for each course is therefore unique, tailored individually to respond to the specific needs. It will integrate a wide variety of elements, to ensure that the content is always interesting and engaging. The goal, for me, is to encourage and to support each student in their individual learning path, to produce rapidly visible, continual and concrete progress. Speaking English can and should actually be as much a real pleasure, as an acquired competency!
