About Julia
I am a student, I've been giving lessons off and on for three years. I lived in Malaysia for a year in secondary school, and saw my mother teaching ESL there. Later, I lived in India for a year as an exchange student, where I helped my roommates practice conversational English, and taught basic English grammar and vocabulary to first and second year students.

I like to approach teaching English, or learning a new language, by starting with basic vocabulary, not focusing too much on grammar right away. I find that people learn to speak more confidently simply through interaction and practice, rather than through rote memorization, so I work to dynamically assess and improve my student's ability to speak, then work with them at an accessible level while pushing them to venture deeper into speaking and communicating through the use of new vocabulary, phrases, and grammatical structures.
