About Kirsty

Hello! My name is Kirsty. I am a 30 year old teacher living in Spain. Over the past five years I have been giving both classes in academies and online, and I have experience preparing my students for Cambridge exams such as PET First and Proficiency. I am a friendly and approachable teacher who loves to create conversation. Some of my other interests include: learning other languages, spending time outdoors and going to the gym. I find great satisfaction in helping others to achieve their goals, and I am always willing to adapt to individual needs and preferences. In addition, I have experience with students of all ages and I can speak fluent Spanish! Please get in touch! I am currently hoping to work more flexibly from home and increase my online work. I am a native speaker of English, with a degree and a TEFL certificate. I am fluent in Spanish, and specialise in giving conversation classes for adults. My first year of teaching was full time in an academy in which I instructed conversation classes, with activity based kids classes, as well as classes with teens and adults. The following three years worked in an academy focusing more on Cambridge exam preparation. As the conversation teacher, I practiced the grammar and new vocabulary with my students, creating interesting conversation as well as providing exam practice and tips. My online work experience began in 2021, and I have been gaining more experience since, with my own private classes for both exams preparation as well as with those desiring to have business or leisure related conversations and to learn a few new expressions or perfect their pronunciation!

About the lesson

My classes are online using Skype, Zoom or Google Meets. If you are looking to pass a Cambridge exam, in your classes we will look at mock exam papers, and you will be able to practice each part of the speaking and receive tips to become confident and ready.

I am a flexible teacher who will adapt to the individual needs and preferences of my students. I will set writing homework and mark it before your next class to help you achieve your goals. I have plenty of exam preparation materials, including for the First, Advanced and Proficiency levels, and will both send and share screen with you to access them during class.

For those looking to improve conversation and pronunciation, we will look at articles together in class, addressing more difficult vocabulary and have discussions and debates following. I will consistently correct your pronunciation of words after each paragraph, to help you perfect your desired accent.

Business students are welcome, as I have helped professionals regarding writing emails, meetings, preparing presentations and interviews. We will use real life examples, and templates, addressing grammar and formality. I will also assist in marking your emails and give you tips on your presentation drafts.
