About Talia

Hello! I’m a native English speaker currently studying English Literature and Language at the University of Oxford. I grew up between England, South America, and Spain, so I’ve been bilingual in English and Spanish from a young age. This experience gave me a real appreciation for how language connects people across cultures.

I believe the best way to improve your English is through natural conversation, not old-fashioned grammar drills or textbook exercises. Speaking regularly helps you think in English, build confidence, and actually use the language in real situations — which is far more effective and enjoyable than memorising rules. Having taught myself French and currently learning Albanian, I understand how it feels to be on the other side, and I know how powerful consistent, relaxed conversation can be.

I’ve also volunteered as an English tutor in schools in Eswatini and Vietnam, where I saw how much students progressed when they had the chance to speak freely and naturally. I’m a patient and encouraging listener, and I create a friendly, low-pressure space where you can practise without worrying about making mistakes.

Whether you want to improve your fluency, work on pronunciation, expand your vocabulary, or simply feel more comfortable speaking English in everyday life, our lessons will be shaped around real conversation. We’ll talk about topics that interest you, and I’ll gently support your accuracy and confidence as we go.

About the lesson

My lessons are relaxed, conversational, and focused on helping you become a more confident and natural English speaker. Rather than traditional grammar lessons, we’ll spend our time chatting about topics that interest you. This is one of the most effective and enjoyable ways to improve your fluency, pronunciation, and confidence — because you’re actually using the language in real conversation.

Each session feels like a friendly conversation rather than a class. We’ll talk about whatever you’d like — your hobbies, daily life, films, travel, culture, or anything else that motivates you. As we speak, I’ll gently support your accuracy, help with pronunciation and accent, and introduce useful vocabulary and expressions in a natural way.

Because I’ve learnt languages myself (I taught myself French and I’m currently learning Albanian), I understand how important it is to practise speaking without pressure. I also love recommending books, films, podcasts, and other resources so you can continue improving English in your everyday life.

Whether you’re a Spanish speaker or come from any other background, I tailor our conversations to your level, interests, and goals. Lessons are completely flexible and held online, so we can find times that work around your schedule.

If you already have some English and want to sound more fluent and feel more confident when speaking, I’d be really happy to help you.
