About Heloise
I am an 18 year old first year medical student at the University of Edinburgh. Born and bred in France, I have given English, French, Maths, History and Biology lessons to 6 pupils in the last 4 years, with very promising results. I have also taught an oral english class of 15 for two weeks. Finally, as president of my school's model UN, I taught classes of 20 to 40 High School students twice a week for a year. I have a lot of experience in speaking to children and keeping their attention as I have also cared for children since age 13. Although I now study science mostly, I also have a passion for languages and literature, which I hope to transmit in my teaching. I love working with children and adults alike.

I have given lessons to pupils aged 5 to 25. My approach is to teach mostly through oral and graphic explanations, using examples that relate to the pupil rather than have them read and write extensively. I would teach French mostly through oral lessons, in a way that keeps it interesting, by using stories, songs, movies and games for instance. As for biology, using images and examples, and explaining concepts and mechanisms orally rather than by reading books can make all the difference. However, I will make sure to adapt to each student's own learning preferences.
