About Salma

Bonjour! My name is Salma Daoudi, and I’m a native French speaker as well as a DPhil (PhD) researcher at the University of Oxford. I’ve spent years studying and teaching, but what I enjoy most is sharing the beauty of the French language with others. I teach because I know how exciting it feels when a new language starts to click. That feeling when you can hold your first conversation, understand a song lyric, or write with confidence. My goal is to help you experience that same sense of achievement! In my lessons, you’ll find a supportive and welcoming space where mistakes are part of learning and curiosity is encouraged. I adapt each class to your level and goals, so whether you’re preparing for an exam, improving your writing, or simply wanting to chat fluently, we’ll build your skills step by step. With me, you won’t just study grammar and vocabulary, you’ll learn how to live the language and feel at ease using it in real situations. By the end of each session, I want you to leave feeling more confident, motivated, and closer to thinking in French.

About the lesson

As a native French speaker, I believe the best way to learn a language is through a balance of structured learning and immersive practice. I combine grammar and vocabulary exercises with interactive conversation, reading, and listening tasks, so students can build both accuracy and fluency. I often use French songs (have you heard of Angèle?) and films to bring lessons to life and to help students think and feel in French rather than simply translate. My methodology is tailored: for exam preparation (GCSE, A-Level, DELF/DALF), I focus on exam techniques, writing, and comprehension. For conversational learners, I emphasise speaking confidence, pronunciation, and cultural nuances (so that your vocabulary expands beyond oui, oui baguette!) Adult learners and professionals who want to improve conversational French, business French, or prepare for language certifications (DELF/DALF). I adapt lessons to each student’s goals and pace, ensuring progress feels both achievable and enjoyable.
