About Haddia

Bonjour! I am Haddia, my native language is French and I have taught French and in French for more than 43 years. I am certified to teach French as a Second Language by CAVILAM-Alliance Française.

My French teaching experience is varied. I have taught French in middle and high schools, and have also taught in French at the university level. I have been a personal French language tutor to staff from international organizations in Washington, DC. Moreover, I teach French language at the International Center for Language Service (ICLS) in Washington, DC, working with US Foreign Service staff and private students. I have also taught DELF A1.1, A1 and A2. I am very proud to say all my students passed their exams on the first attempt.

My lessons are customized to the needs and goals of my students. I emphasize the four aspects of language learning (speaking, reading, writing, comprehension) and I include French Culture in my lessons. Students have consistently loved my teaching style as I am very enthusiastic about French language and culture. My teaching evaluations have been uniformly excellent.

I give interactive lessons and tailor my teaching style to each student's individual needs and interests. For students who already have some knowledge of French, my teaching focuses on identifying specific problems they may be having and getting them focused help where they need it. In all situations my style is to try and speak almost entirely in French during lessons as I’ve found that this method helps students quickly acquire the language.
