About Hugo
Hi,
I’m Hugo, a native French speaker from Toulouse in the south of France. My whole family is French, and I grew up speaking French before moving to the UK in 2011.
Having built my life in an English-speaking country, I understand first-hand the challenges of communicating confidently in another language. I’d now like to use that experience to help others learn French in a relaxed and supportive environment.
I’m patient, approachable and happy to adapt to different learning styles. My aim is to make French feel useful and enjoyable rather than intimidating, and to help you develop the confidence to use what you learn in real conversations.

My lessons are relaxed, practical and tailored to your goals. I want you to feel comfortable speaking French without worrying about making mistakes.
We can focus on everyday conversation, pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar, depending on what you want to achieve. I particularly like using real-life situations rather than relying only on textbooks, for example, conversations you might actually have while travelling, at work or socially.
I can help complete beginners as well as people who already know some French but want to become more confident and natural when speaking.
As a native French speaker who has lived in the UK for many years, I also understand the differences between French and English and can explain things from an English speaker’s perspective.
Most importantly, the lessons will be adapted to you, your level, your pace and the reasons you want to learn French.
