About Priyanka

I grew up in Mauritius, in a house where several languages were spoken at once, often in the same sentence. That is probably where all of this started.
I was educated in French, then lived ten years in France. I studied marketing and digital media, earned my Master's degree in Madrid, and spent four years in Paris managing creative projects for a major telecom company. Along the way, I lived and worked in Spain, Denmark, and now Canada. Every one of those moves meant starting over in a language I did not fully control yet. I know what that feels like, and I have not forgotten it.
Outside of work I am a photographer. I like noticing things other people walk past. It turns out that is useful in teaching too: hearing the one word someone hesitated on, and understanding why.
I have also volunteered facilitating art workshops for people going through difficult periods, and with a food distribution charity in France. What I took from that is simple. People learn when they feel safe enough to be bad at something in front of you.
I moved to Canada to build something here. Teaching French is part of that. I would like it to be part of yours too.

About your lessons

Most people who come to me have already tried an app, a class, or a textbook. Something did not stick. Usually, the problem is not the language. It is that the method was built for an average student who does not exist.
So I start by understanding how you learn. Some people need to see a word. Some need to hear it in a real sentence. Some need the grammar to make sense before they can relax and speak. I listen for that, and I build everything around it.

My approach

I teach French the way it is actually spoken. Rules matter, but they follow the conversation instead of blocking it. You will speak out loud from the first lesson, and you will make mistakes. That is the point.

A typical lesson

Ten minutes in French, no English, on something ordinary. Your week, your commute, whatever comes up.
We take one thing you struggled to say, and we build what you needed to say it.
One grammar point, always attached to something you actually want to express.
We finish by using it out loud.

Between lessons, I send you one short thing to work on. Chosen for how you learn, not the same for everyone.
