My background living in Paris and my special attachment to both the French language and culture have allowed me to develop a true passion for sharing with others not only my linguistic expertise but also my cultural experiences as a native French student.
Throughout my life, I have mastered the subtleties of the French language and I am confident that through my tutoring help, I can offer students not only quality linguistic lessons but also the outmost authentic cultural experience.
When it comes to standardized testing (SAT French Subject Test or AP French), I am very familiar with the format of those tests and the methodology they require. I know from experience that students usually feel overwhelmed and lost, left to figure out on their own where to even begin when opening the huge practice books to train for these types of tests, (especially the French Subject Test...!). In addition, way too often, I have observed that students are misguided by training methods that are outdated as the tests and their formats change all the time. I took the SAT recently, so I know the latest changes made to it and the methods that will allow the students to ace their test while showing up feeling calm, confident and prepared the day of the examination.
I was born and raised in France. French is my first language and the only language spoken by my family in my Parisian home.
I graduated high school in Paris and passed the French baccalaureate exam with high honors from the board after which I decided to pursue my higher education in the USA. After a post-graduate year at Choate Rosemary Hall (a preparatory boarding school in Connecticut), I went on to study Liberal Arts at New York University.
In order to prepare for the French baccalaureate exam, I have closely studied most of the academic topics covered in both high school-level and college-level French classes in the US. I am also very familiar with the French classes' materials frequently marked as requirements on their syllabi (literature, essay writing, philosophy, art, grammar, spelling, speaking, pronunciation, French history, the French government, speech writing).
In addition, I got a perfect score (800/800) on my SAT French subject test here in the US, so I know the tools, tips and training exercises that students need in order to ace the test while feeling calm and confident.
