About Emily

My name is Emily and I have been doing French tutoring with students of different ages for five years. I was born in France and am fluent in the language, and also received A*s in my French GCSE and A level. I am friendly and patient, and I am passionate about teaching and helping other people, which is my reason for wanting to tutor. My goal when tutoring is to help students feel comfortable, and I always focus on their priorities and cater my lessons to their needs.

About the lesson

I am fluent in French and have also studied it as an A level subject, achieving a high A* grade. I have been tutoring students aged 5-15 since 2018. I curate my lessons to individuals' needs and priorities, preparing educational PowerPoints and worksheets to practice French through application. I have helped students achieve grade 9 in their GCSEs, and younger students become more comfortable and confident.

For GCSE students, I focus on all areas of French in the syllabus, and work on helping students create connections between them to ease their understanding and fluency; for example, by using learned useful answers from their speaking practice as inspiration for writing answers to prompts in their writing practice.

My lessons range from an hour to two hours based on individual preference, and are done online as I am a university student. As they are adapted for different people, they are for anyone!
