About Julia
Teaching French is more than just sharing grammar and vocabulary for me — it’s about opening doors to a new culture and helping others gain confidence in expressing themselves. I love seeing my students progress and enjoy the language as much as I do. I am currently living in Australia on a Working Holiday Visa (PVT), and I am learning English every day. This journey allows me to meet new people and discover a new culture — which, to me, is the best way to learn a language: through immersion. I understand how challenging it can be to learn a new language and how sometimes it can feel intimidating or scary to speak up. That’s exactly why I want to help people who want to learn a language — to help them feel comfortable and confident. It’s important to understand that it’s okay if your first sentences aren’t perfect. It’s by practicing and daring to speak that you improve. I want to encourage and support my students to dare to try and express themselves without fear.

My tutoring approach and how I teach my classes: As a native French speaker and literature graduate, I bring both academic knowledge and a genuine passion for sharing my language and culture. My teaching style is adapted to each student: I focus on what you enjoy, what you need, and how you learn best. Whether you're learning French for travel, school support, or just for the joy of it, I aim to make each session engaging, relaxed, and personalized. I believe that language learning should be fun and meaningful. That’s why I always encourage real conversation, and I design lessons around everyday situations, games, stories, and cultural insights. I have experience teaching French to young children through babysitting sessions, where I incorporated playful language learning activities (songs, stories, basic vocabulary and conversation). These sessions were aimed at French primary school students needing support — an experience that taught me patience, creativity, and how to keep learning light and fun. Lesson length: 1 hour (flexible depending on your needs) Levels taught: Beginner to Intermediate Ages: Children, teens, and adults Formats: Online or in-person in Brisbane I hold a French Baccalauréat in Literature, followed by a year of Classes Préparatoires Littéraires (Hypokhâgne) and a Bachelor’s degree in French Literature. These studies gave me a strong foundation in grammar, writing, and communication — which I love sharing with others.
