About Yixi

Hello, I am from Guangdong China and I am currently studying for a postgraduate degree at the University of Birmingham in the UK, having previously completed my undergraduate degree at the Guangdong University of Foreign Studies in China. Chinese is my mother tongue and I am also fluent in English and Cantonese.
As an outgoing person, I am good at communicating with students and parents, and I am able to establish a rapport with them quickly. I understand the importance of a good teacher-student relationship for learning and strive to create a comfortable environment for students.

About the lesson

During my undergraduate years, I worked as a part-time math teacher and English teacher, and my experience may have allowed me to accumulate rich teaching experience. In the classroom, I not only teach knowledge, but also focus on interaction and communication with students. I am aware that students have different learning styles and needs at every point, so I will flexibly adjust my teaching methods to suit their individual needs. By encouraging students to ask questions, engage in discussions and participate in hands-on activities, I strive to create an open and inclusive learning environment where students can grow in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. At the same time, I continue to learn from student feedback to improve my teaching skills. The mutually reinforcing relationship puts me in touch with the true meaning of education - it's not just about the transmission of knowledge, but also about the exchange and growth of the mind.
I recommend a 30-minute lesson for younger students and 45 minutes to an hour for others who can focus and absorb for a long time. Students who have no knowledge of Chinese or are beginners in Chinese can learn Chinese with me and have fluent conversations in their daily lives. In addition, for English and Cantonese speakers, I am able to conduct simple conversations at the beginning of the course to help them build a good foundation in Chinese language learning.
