About Octaviani
I'm a native Indonesian speaker currently based in Singapore, and teaching has always been something I genuinely enjoy — there's nothing quite like helping someone go from feeling unsure to confidently having their first real conversation in a new language.
Bahasa Indonesia is my mother tongue, so it felt natural to share it with others, especially since I have some free time now and wanted to use it doing something meaningful. Rather than just teaching from a textbook, I like to focus on how the language is actually spoken day to day, the kind of Indonesian you'd hear from locals, not just in formal settings.

As a native speaker, I understand the language the way it's actually used in daily life, not just textbook grammar. My lessons focus on helping you speak confidently and naturally, whether you're preparing to live in Indonesia, work with Indonesian colleagues, travel, or simply connect with Indonesian friends and family.
I currently teach informally, drawing on my own experience learning and using the language, and I bring a friendly, patient approach that's especially helpful for beginners who feel nervous about speaking a new language. Lessons are conversation-focused and practical, covering everyday topics like greetings, ordering food, small talk, shopping, and other real-life situations, alongside basic grammar and vocabulary to build a solid foundation.
All lessons are conducted online, so you can learn from anywhere at a time that suits you.
