I usually teach using textbooks based on the student's level of Japanese. My classes are interactive that I incorporate colloquial conversation, games, Q&As, and so on. I like to make sure if my students are on the same boat as I teach while clarifying any ambiguity or questions. Everyone has a different method of learning that I adjust to the student's needs and the styles of learning. I recommend to have a 1-2 hour class per session since there's a lot to cover, but as I mentioned, I listen to your needs and we can figure out the best way that works for you.
I'm a native Japanese who lived in Japan for 19 years. I'm also bilingual and English is technically my second language. I have majored in Interpreting and Translation and graduated with a certificate at Century College in Minnesota. It's been four years since I started teaching as a Japanese teacher and I have experience in teaching specific needs of my students. We all have different goals in mind and I'm more than welcome to adjust my curriculum for your needs. Teaching has become my passion and I'm here to support you with your journey of learning Japanese.
Perfect! It is hard to find a Japanese tutor in the twin cities but I am glad we found Mary. She has been helping my daughter for a short time now. She is excellent and we're getting great results. Mary is amazing! Glad we found her.
