About Shiiba
Hi! I’m Seiya, a native Japanese speaker from Miyazaki, Japan, currently living in New York.
I worked as an engineer in Japan for several years before moving abroad. Living overseas and learning English and Spanish myself have helped me understand both the excitement and challenges of learning a new language.
I enjoy meeting people from different countries and learning about different cultures. I’m friendly, patient, and happy to create a relaxed environment where you can speak Japanese without worrying about making mistakes.
Whether you are just starting Japanese or want to become more comfortable speaking naturally, I’d be happy to support you on your Japanese-learning journey!

My lessons focus on practical Japanese that you can actually use in real-life situations. I especially enjoy helping beginners build a strong foundation and become more confident speaking Japanese.
Lessons are personalized to your level and goals. We can practice everyday conversation, pronunciation, useful phrases, hiragana and katakana, or Japanese for travel and daily life.
I believe that learning a language should be enjoyable and practical. Rather than simply memorizing grammar rules, we will use Japanese through conversation and practice. As a native Japanese speaker, I can also teach you natural expressions and explain how Japanese is actually used in everyday life.
Don’t worry about making mistakes — they are an important part of learning!
