About Natsumi

Hi! I’m Natsumi, a native Japanese speaker from Kamakura, Japan, and a qualified Japanese teacher.

I completed all the requirements of a 420-hour Japanese Language Teacher Training Course and have been teaching Japanese since 2019. I currently teach Japanese online and enjoy helping students become more confident Japanese speakers.

I’m also fluent in English, so if you’re a beginner or find Japanese grammar difficult, I can explain things clearly in English when needed.

I believe Japanese lessons should be enjoyable and tailored to each student. Rather than using exactly the same lesson for everyone, I create lessons based on your level, interests, and goals.

I also love traveling and have visited 25 countries, so I enjoy meeting people from different backgrounds and learning about their cultures too.

Making mistakes is completely okay in my lessons. I want you to feel comfortable asking questions, trying new expressions, and speaking Japanese as much as possible.

About the lesson

I offer personalized online Japanese lessons for students of different levels, from complete beginners to advanced learners.

We can start from the basics and gradually build your Japanese skills, including hiragana, katakana, vocabulary, grammar, and useful everyday expressions.

◆Conversation◆
If your main goal is to speak Japanese more naturally, we can focus on conversation and practical expressions you can actually use in real-life situations.

◆Travel Japanese◆
Planning a trip to Japan? I can help you learn useful Japanese for restaurants, shopping, transportation, hotels, sightseeing, and everyday situations.

◆JLPT Preparation◆
I can help you prepare for the JLPT by working on grammar, vocabulary, reading, listening, and test-taking strategies according to your level and goals.

◆Japanese for School & University◆
I can also support students who are studying Japanese at school or university and need additional practice or help understanding difficult grammar and vocabulary.

Not sure what kind of lesson you need? No problem! We can discuss your goals and create a study plan that works for you.
