About Isabel

Hi! I’m Isabel. I was born in the Dominican Republic and raised in New York, so I’ve spent my life between two languages and two cultures. Because of that, I understand both the challenges and the excitement of learning a new language.

Outside of tutoring, I’m a writer and I work full-time at an architecture firm as a project manager. I’m also currently learning French and Italian, so I know firsthand what it’s like to practice speaking, make mistakes, and gradually build confidence.

I believe learning should be practical, enjoyable, and personalized. Whether your goal is to improve your conversation skills, pronunciation, vocabulary, or prepare for travel, work, or everyday life, I’ll create lessons that fit your interests and learning style. We can practice real conversations, read articles, translate songs, discuss movies, learn idioms and slang, or explore any topics that keep you motivated.

My goal is to create a relaxed, supportive environment where you feel comfortable speaking from day one. I look forward to helping you become a more confident Spanish speaker!

About the lesson

Learning a language should feel exciting, practical, and enjoyable not stressful. As someone who was born in the Dominican Republic and raised in the United States, I know what it’s like to live between two languages and cultures. That’s why I create a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes and asking questions.

My lessons are personalized to your goals and interests. Whether you want to improve your conversation skills, pronunciation, vocabulary, or prepare for travel, work, interviews, or everyday life, we’ll create a learning plan that works for you.

Our lessons can include real conversations, role-playing, reading articles, discussing current events, listening to music, translating song lyrics, watching short videos, learning idioms and slang, and exploring cultural differences. I believe the best way to learn a language is through immersion and meaningful practice that you can use in real life.

I work with beginners, intermediate, and advanced students and adapt every lesson to your pace. My goal is to help you build confidence, enjoy the learning process, and leave every lesson feeling more comfortable speaking English. I can’t wait to meet you and help you achieve your language goals!
