About Lauren
Hi! I’m a Mandarin tutor with 4 years of experience teaching MYP students in Hong Kong, recommended by my Chinese teachers to support younger learners. I’m currently studying Education, Practice and Society at UCL, with a strong focus on child development and inclusive education. I’ve held leadership roles as a Grade Representative and as the Founder and President of the first student-led mental health club in high school. I was also selected as one of 10 youth advisers for the HK Youth Advisory Board for Mental Health. I’ve worked closely with children through various volunteer roles, including with asylum seekers and at community centres, and am known for being patient, warm, and engaging with young learners:)

I offer 1-hour, structured Mandarin lessons using slideshows, tailored worksheets, and interactive activities. Homework is assigned when helpful, always personalised to the student’s level and goals. With 4 years of experience teaching high-level Mandarin to MYP students in Hong Kong, and additional experience supporting English learners at a community centre, I bring a clear and patient teaching style. My lessons are ideal for young beginners (ages 5–14) in London—whether they're preparing for IB, GCSE, A-Levels, or simply building fluency in Mandarin speaking, reading, and writing.
