About Nana

Hello! My name is Nana, and I am a native Mandarin Chinese speaker currently studying in Canada. I am fluent in both Chinese and English, which allows me to communicate clearly with students from different backgrounds and help them understand and learn Chinese in a simple and relaxed way.

I am a patient, friendly, and responsible tutor who truly enjoys helping students improve their confidence and language skills. I believe that learning a new language should be an encouraging and interactive process rather than a stressful one. Therefore, I always adjust my teaching style according to each student’s level, goals, and learning pace.

Whether you are a complete beginner or someone hoping to improve your speaking and pronunciation skills, I will help you confidently enjoy the process of learning Mandarin Chinese.

About the lesson

I can communicate in both Chinese and English, and I can help students from English-speaking backgrounds learn Chinese more easily. I hope to help students gradually improve their Chinese skills and confidence through a relaxed, patient teaching style in a stress-free environment.
My teaching approach mainly focuses on practical communication, pronunciation correction, vocabulary building, and a step-by-step learning process. I adjust the course content according to each student’s Chinese level, learning goals, and study habits. In class, I combine speaking practice, listening, reading, and real-life conversational scenarios so that students can truly use Chinese in everyday communication.
A typical lesson usually begins with a brief review of previously learned material, followed by learning new vocabulary and grammar, and then pronunciation practice and speaking exercises. I believe the most important part of language learning is having the courage to speak, so my classes include a lot of interaction and communication to help students improve their Chinese speaking abilities.
What makes me different from other teachers is that I understand both the way native Chinese speakers express themselves and the difficulties English speakers commonly face when learning Chinese. This allows me to help students understand Chinese in a more targeted and effective way. As an international student myself, I also understand that learning a new language is not easy, so I will patiently help students improve step by step.
