About Kim
I am a native Mandarin Chinese speaker with a passion for helping students build confidence in learning the language. Growing up speaking Mandarin as my mother tongue, I understand its richness and complexity, and I enjoy making it accessible to learners of all levels. My educational background includes a Master’s degree from the University of Houston, which also gives me strong cross-cultural communication skills and the ability to explain language concepts clearly to English speakers.

I have several years of experience teaching and tutoring Mandarin in both informal and structured settings. I have worked with beginners who want to learn practical daily expressions as well as advanced learners who aim to improve fluency, pronunciation, or business Chinese. My teaching style is highly student-centered: I focus on listening to each learner’s goals and creating customized lessons using conversation practice, real-life scenarios, and structured exercises to make progress both fun and effective.
