About Dong

I am a native Mandarin speaker currently completing my studies at Kogarah High School in Sydney. My passion for language stems from my deep roots in Chinese classical literature and poetry, which has taught me the precision and beauty of the Mandarin language.
I want to teach because I find great joy in helping others overcome the challenges of learning a second language. Having experience as a peer tutor helping classmates achieve their academic goals, I understand the importance of patience and encouragement.

About the lesson

My lessons focus on building language confidence through immersive conversation and cultural appreciation. I excel at integrating students' personal interests and hobbies into the learning process to spark genuine engagement and curiosity.
As a dedicated contestant recommended by my school in China for the National Ancient Poetry Competition, I have a deep understanding of Chinese literature. I incorporate these into my teaching.
I embrace a patient, student-centered approach, often drawing on my passion for nature observation to explain complex linguistic concepts with relatable, real-life examples.
My lessons are typically 60 minutes long and can be fully personalised to meet your specific needs. I welcome children, teenagers, and adult beginners alike.
