About Joy

I have 20 plus years of experience as a technical writer. Over this time, I have written user instructions, quality assurance procedures, and marketing and public relations documents like brochures and newsletters. I have also provided on-the-job writing workshops for the personnel of various engineering firms in the Middle East, where a significant level of staff must communicate in English.

About the lesson

The classes are for anyone who wants to learn English in a straightforward, practical way, with lots of speaking and conversation practice. For beginners, I use a modern, interactive method, focused on speaking from the first class. The focus is to develop student fluency quickly and effectively. For more advanced students, I use a personalized teaching method based on their skills and needs.

It is a real pleasure working with Fernando to help him develop his English. He is very communicative and already has the ability to hold a conversation confidently in English. We are now focusing on using correct verb forms more consistently in his speech and helping him express himself in more natural-sounding English, rather than relying on literal translations from Portuguese.
