About the lesson

In my lessons, I use a communicative approach that focuses on real-life language use. I believe in engaging students through interactive activities that foster speaking, listening, and comprehension skills. I integrate Russian culture, art, and literature into the lessons, helping students not only master the language but also appreciate its rich heritage.

To keep students motivated, I use a variety of techniques, such as:
Role-playing: Encourages speaking in everyday scenarios, building conversational confidence.
Storytelling and authentic materials: I incorporate Russian short stories, poems, and music to create a culturally immersive experience.
Gamification and humor: I use games and light-hearted activities to make learning fun, which helps reduce student anxiety and creates a supportive environment.
Personalized feedback: I offer constructive feedback tailored to each student’s progress, ensuring that lessons are both effective and motivating.
The typical structure for a 60-min lesson is the following:
-Warm-up (5-10 minutes): We start with a light conversation or a game to engage the student and get them comfortable.
-Homework review (5-10 minutes): After the warm-up, we review the previous lesson’s homework to address any challenges or questions, reinforcing key concepts.
-Introduction of new material (15-20 minutes): Using visual aids, real-life examples, and cultural references, I introduce new vocabulary, grammar, or expressions.
-Practice (20-25 minutes): Students engage in interactive exercises, role-plays, or small group activities, focusing on speaking, listening, and comprehension skills.
-Wrap-up (5-10 minutes): We review the key takeaways from the lesson, and I assign personalized homework that aligns with the student’s learning goals and needs.

What sets me apart is my ability to create a relaxed and engaging learning environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes and learning from them. My sense of humor plays a big role in breaking down barriers and building trust with students, which helps foster an open and encouraging space for learning.
