About Stanley
I'm a native Russian speaker and fluent in English. I've worked with English speakers at different levels — from complete beginners to heritage speakers who understand but struggle to respond.
My approach is simple: I tailor every lesson to you. We focus on what you actually need, whether that's casual conversation, grammar that finally makes sense, or Russian for travel or work.
I'm patient, low-pressure, and big on real progress over perfection. You'll make mistakes — that's fine. I'll help you fix them without making it awkward.
I also keep track of where you're at, so you're not wondering if you're actually improving. You'll see it.

About the lesson

Get to know more about my approach as a tutor.
Teaching method: I focus on getting you speaking right away. Grammar matters, but I teach it through real conversation, not drills. I explain things in English when needed, then switch back to Russian so you get used to thinking in the language.
Typical lesson (60 min):
1. First 5 min: casual chat in Russian ("how was your day?")
2. Quick review of last lesson (10 min)
3. New topic — one thing only, practiced through talking (30 min)
4. Wrap-up and a small task for next time (15 min)
What makes me different: I'm a native Russian speaker but fluent in English, so I actually get why you're confused about cases or verb aspects. I'll adjust everything to your pace and interests — no cookie-cutter lessons. Also, I keep it low-pressure. Mistakes are fine.
Who these lessons are for: English speakers at beginner to intermediate level (A1–B1). Good for heritage speakers who understand but can't speak well, travelers, expats, or anyone who's tired of apps and wants real conversation. Not for complete beginners who don't know the alphabet yet — we'd do 1–2 sessions on that first.
