About Marina

My academic background is in audiovisual arts, with a specialisation in TV presenting. This training involved working extensively with text, language structure, speech, and communication, all of which sharpened my linguistic and presentation skills. I also have over ten years of experience as a dance instructor, where I developed and delivered lessons in a creative and structured format. I also completed a one-year course in filmmaking in the UK, which gave me a strong understanding of cultural diversity and helps me connect better with students from different backgrounds.

If you're a Russian-speaking parent looking to help your child stay connected to their cultural roots, I’d be happy to support you. I also offer Ukrainian lessons. By the way, did you know that English and Russian, Ukrainian shared a common ancestral language about 4,500 to 6,000 years ago? Even though modern English and Russian are very different, they still share deep-rooted similarities — especially in basic vocabulary like family, numbers, body parts, and nature. My rates depend on the type of lesson: £12/hour – for informal conversation practice or phrase revision. £20/hour – for structured lessons that include custom exercises, homework checking, and tailored materials. £16/hour – for a balanced format that combines both conversation and targeted learning.
