I believe that the best way to learn a new language is by immersing yourself as much as you can in it. When I was learning how to speak English, I would watch movies in English with subtitles in English as well. I would also read blogs, and books in English. I even switched my phone settings to English. It is very important to surround yourself with as much Spanish (in this case) as you can, and my methodology is based on that premise. Being forced to learn a new language is the best way to learn, and while you might not live in a Spanish country where you would definitely be forced to speak it, that should not stop you from creating scenarios where you can force yourself to learn it.
