About Astrid
Hi there! I’m a native Spanish speaker from Mexico, currently studying Biotechnology at the University of Toronto.
I enjoy teaching my language and seeing students gain confidence in their ability to communicate. I emphasize conversational skills for you to become a fluent Spanish speaker. I am patient, organized, and attentive to each student’s needs, which allows me to adapt my teaching style and create a comfortable learning environment.
Through my experience working one-on-one, I’ve learned how to keep lessons both engaging and structured, especially for beginners and younger learners.
My goal is to make learning Spanish feel approachable and effective, so students can see real progress and stay motivated.

I keep my lessons engaging, structured, and with a high focus on conversational skills! My classes are personalized and adapted to the students’ age and learning style. I can teach online or in-person (GTA area), with a flexible schedule.
For students under 7, I use interactive methods such as visuals, drawing, and hands-on activities (e.g., matching colors to vocabulary or arranging words to form sentences). This helps keep them engaged while building a strong foundation in Spanish.
For beginners and older students, I focus on structured theoretical learning, combined with conversation sections that utilize the material taught. Lessons include vocabulary building and real-life sentence construction, so students can start using Spanish confidently. Additionally, I provide materials and exercises to support progress outside of class.
