About Irene
Hi there!
I'm Ren (Irene). I'm 33 years old and I'm originally from Galicia, a beautiful and relatively undiscovered county in the North of Spain. Have you heard of it?
I have lived and worked in London for the last 10 years, having originally moved here to study a MA in Political Communications. After interning with a few charities in the communications department, I have spent many happy years working in events management in the hospitality industry until this October. Now, I'd like to start a new venture teaching Spanish full time.
I'm completely trilingual in English, Spanish and Galician (which is very similar to Portuguese). Thanks to my personal and academic background I have excelled in simultaneous translation. I have also worked translating papers into English or Spanish for a charity called Release, as well as business proposals for my last employer, Bourne & Hollingsworth.
My experience in teaching comes mainly from volunteering with toddlers and caring for people with learning disabilities. My approach is fun, adaptable and focuses on the needs and capabilities of the student. I like to work with mnemonic devices and logic rather than old fashion memorisation.

I went to school in Spain, I attended the same private school (Los Sauces) from the age of 12 to 17.
My highest scores where in History (9 out of 10), Literature (8 out of 10), Spanish (8 out of 10). I also studied Maths, Biology, English, Chemistry and Enviromental Sciences during the last 2 years of school.
