About Mariaelena

Hi! My name is Mariaelena, and I am a native Spanish speaker currently studying Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics at UCLA. I have a passion for both education and helping others gain confidence in learning new skills. As a native speaker, I can help students develop natural pronunciation, conversational fluency, grammar, reading, and writing skills while also introducing them to Hispanic culture. I believe every student learns differently, so I tailor each lesson to their individual goals, pace, and learning style. Whether you're a beginner or looking to strengthen your Spanish for school, work, or travel, I'm excited to help you achieve your goals in a supportive and encouraging learning environment.

About the lesson

As a native Spanish speaker, my goal is to help students build confidence while making learning Spanish engaging, practical, and personalized. I adapt my teaching style to each student's goals, whether they want to improve conversational skills, prepare for exams, strengthen grammar, or develop reading and writing abilities.
My teaching method and techniques:
I use an interactive, student-centered approach that combines conversation, grammar explanations, vocabulary practice, pronunciation exercises, and real-life examples. I encourage students to actively participate by speaking Spanish throughout the lesson at a level that is comfortable for them. I also incorporate games, articles, videos, and cultural topics to make learning more enjoyable and memorable.

A typical lesson plan:
A typical lesson begins with a brief review of previous material, followed by introducing a new concept or vocabulary. We then practice through guided activities, conversations, reading passages, or writing exercises. At the end of each lesson, I review key points, answer questions, and provide optional practice to reinforce what was learned.
