About Boris
Having worked with English language learners from many nationalities since 2009, teaching online will help me to enrich my teaching experience. I received my B.A. in Elementary Education with a concentration in 5 – 9 social studies from Buena Vista University in May 2011, along with my K – 12 ELL endorsement and a K - 12 Spanish endorsement. In addition, I have a Master’s in Arts of Education (with a concentration in Multicultural Education). I am fluent in three languages (Spanish, French, and English) and I have traveled to twenty five countries.
I have been in the educational field since 2009. I have been working as a bilingual ELL teacher for a dual language (English/Spanish) school since 2014. Before working in the Kansas City Public School District, I worked the entire 2012–2014 school years as an ELL teacher at Mount Pleasant Middle School and as a Spanish teacher at Mount Pleasant High School. Finally, prior to working in the Mount Pleasant District, I also worked as an aide and long term sub in the Ottumwa District for three years.

I believe teaching a language has to be fun to keep students motivated. I use a lot visual materials like: flashcards, pictures, etc. My lesson plans are very engaging based on the student's background knowledge. Grammar is an important part. However, my main focus is speaking.
