About Patrick

I’m a Mexican tutor with a background in journalism, diplomacy, and international relations, having lived and worked across Mexico, the US, China, and the UK. I’m a big language enthusiast myself, so I understand how challenging, but rewarding, language learning can be.

Alongside tutoring, I’m currently completing my PGCE in the UK towards Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), training to teach Geography, Social Sciences, and languages. My lessons are relaxed, practical, and tailored to help students build confidence and improve naturally.

About the lesson

My approach is goal-focused, practical, and tailored to how you learn best. Whether you are preparing for exams, improving conversational Spanish, travelling, relocating, or using Spanish for work, lessons are designed around your specific aims and interests.

I combine speaking, listening, reading, writing, pronunciation, and vocabulary building in a relaxed but structured way. Lessons are interactive and centred around real communication rather than memorising endless grammar rules. I also adapt materials and activities to suit different learning styles and confidence levels.

A typical lesson lasts one hour, though every session is different depending on your goals. You will have plenty of input into what we focus on, and I will provide engaging topics, exercises, and resources designed to improve confidence and fluency from the very first lesson.

I hold two Master’s degrees in Media and Communication from the London School of Economics and Political Science and Fudan University, and I am CELTA qualified to teach English as a foreign language. I am also currently completing my PGCE in the UK towards Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

Lessons are open to all ages and levels, from children and secondary school students to university learners, professionals, and adult beginners. Enhanced DBS check available.
