About Carlos

Hello! I’m a native Spanish tutor with over five years of teaching experience. I’ve lived in Italy, the UK, and Japan, where I studied at Waseda University. I bring a rich mix of Latin American and European cultural insights to my lessons. I hold a degree in Japanese and History of Art from SOAS, University of London. Because I’ve learned several languages myself, I understand the challenges students face. This experience shapes my practical, supportive teaching style. My goal is to make learning Spanish engaging, effective, and enjoyable. I focus on real communication, clear guidance, and building confidence, so students feel comfortable using the language from the very beginning.

A typical lesson starts with a short warm-up, followed by new vocabulary or grammar, simple practice activities, and real-life speaking exercises. I also offer personalised homework when useful, always keeping your goals in mind.

What sets me apart is my international background. Having lived and studied in Italy, the UK, and Japan, I understand the challenges of learning a new language and create a relaxed, supportive atmosphere where you can progress comfortably.
