My perspective when it comes to teaching conversation is two fold. Standard interaction (ordinary day by day) and topic specific (technical/professional). Having a strong core standard conversation carries over in all disciplines. Specially when keeping into account that spanish speakers have a way of talking, that is not explained in books, but rather delivered through experience.
