About Lisa

I am a 27 year old German who worked as a German Assistant teacher at a Sixth Form College in Cambridge. I love teaching and passing on my love for and skills in languages and working with young learners, as I think that inter-cultural conversation is highly enriching for everyone involved.
I studied English, History and successfully finished both of those subjects, as well as the extra curriculum "Teaching German as a Foreign Language" with a Masters of Education degree, which enables me to teach all those subjects up to at least A-Level level. However, I am very happy to teach learners of all levels, as I have quite a lot of teaching and tutoring experience of all ages from 10 and older. I also just finished my teacher training and I'm a fully qualified teacher ( for secondary school). I am a very friendly, funny person who is quite open and I think it is important that the learner is able to enjoy learning the language.

About the lesson

I am very open and think it is important to tailor a lesson precisely to a student's needs. I like to use new technology e.g. like booklet or padlet, but also stick to good old techniques like simple writing (by hand!) and reading classic texts. The focus will depend on a student's need, but since teaching a language, a focus will always be on speaking, as well as tackling grammar and vocabulary. A typical lesson would be 1 hour, however can be shorter/ longer upon request.
I have finished my Masters of Education at the University of Stuttgart which is tailored precisely for becoming a teacher. Furthermore, I have worked with a German tutoring company for two years, working with several students of various ages and levels and taught the previous full year at four different school, students being between the age of 10 to 19.
My lessons are for learners of all ages and levels. :)
