About Flavie

I'm a 22-year-old French native hailing from the enchanting landscapes of France. Currently pursuing a master's degree in finance, I'm deeply passionate about sharing my linguistic and cultural expertise. With 20 years of French immersion, I'm bilingual in French and English, and I'm dedicated to helping students like you discover the beauty of the French language while offering a supportive and enjoyable learning experience.

About the lesson

I can Teach but also help with assignments and homework, or give support to French lessons.

Teaching Methodology and Techniques:

Communicative Approach: I emphasize real-life communication skills, focusing on speaking, listening, reading, and writing in practical contexts. This approach helps students become confident in using French in everyday situations.

Customization: I tailor my teaching methods to suit the individual needs and learning styles of my students. Whether you're a beginner or an advanced learner, I adapt my lessons accordingly.

Interactive Learning: I believe that active participation enhances retention. Therefore, my lessons include a variety of interactive activities such as role-playing, discussions, games, and multimedia resources.

Grammar and Vocabulary: I provide a strong foundation in grammar and vocabulary, essential for language proficiency. However, I integrate these aspects into practical exercises to ensure they are not taught in isolation.

Cultural Context: Learning a language is not just about words and grammar; it's also about understanding the culture. I incorporate cultural elements into my lessons to give students a well-rounded appreciation of the French language.

Typical Lesson Plan:

Warm-up: We start with a brief conversation in French to get the student accustomed to speaking the language.

New Vocabulary: I introduce new words and phrases relevant to the lesson's topic.

Grammar Focus: We delve into a specific grammar concept, with clear explanations and examples.

Practice: Students engage in various exercises to apply what they've learned, including speaking and writing exercises.

Listening and Speaking: I incorporate listening comprehension exercises and speaking activities to improve conversational skills.

Cultural Component: We may explore a cultural aspect of French-speaking countries, like a tradition, holiday, or a popular French film or song.

Homework/Assignments: I can provide light homework assignments to reinforce what was covered in the lesson.

What Sets Me Apart:

Personalization: I understand that every student is unique, and I adapt my teaching approach accordingly. I take the time to identify their strengths and weaknesses and create a learning plan tailored to their needs.

Patient and Supportive: Learning a new language can be challenging, so I maintain a patient and supportive attitude. I encourage questions and provide constructive feedback to help students improve.

My lessons are designed for a wide range of learners, including:

- Beginners: Those who have little to no prior knowledge of French.
- Intermediate Learners: Students with some background in French who want to enhance their skills.
- Advanced Learners: Individuals looking to refine their language proficiency.
- Travelers: People preparing for a trip to a French-speaking country who want to learn essential conversational skills.
- Students: High school or college students studying French for academic purposes.
