About David

I recently retired as Head of Subject (Leadership and Public Services) at the University of South Wales, bringing decades of experience in teaching, leadership, and research to my tutoring practice. With a strong foundation in Social Sciences, I began my career as a researcher after graduating from Swansea University.

I co-founded a research company specialising in primary research on housing-related issues, including homelessness, mental health, substance misuse, and the needs of older adults. Over the years, my work spanned the UK, producing impactful reports for government agencies and contributing to policy development.

In 2002, I transitioned to the non-governmental sector, applying my expertise in research and communication to secure funding for projects supporting marginalised communities. For over 15 years, I developed my leadership skills by managing diverse initiatives aimed at fostering inclusion and empowerment.

In 2018, I moved into academia, where I served as a lecturer and later as Head of Subject. In these roles, I mentored students, designed academic programmes, and shaped the next generation of leaders. My teaching philosophy is grounded in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment that empowers students to succeed both academically and personally.

With extensive experience across public, non-governmental, and academic sectors, I bring a unique combination of practical insights, academic expertise, and a student-centered approach.
