About Michelle

I am a kind and dedicated tutor with 6 years experience with 6 years of experience in preparing children for 11+. I have a track-record of great success, with a number of previous students awarded scholarships to their school of choice. I teach Maths, English, Verbal Reasoning, Non-Verbal Reasoning (and Spatial Reasoning). I pride myself on being encouraging and nurturing, whilst gently challenging the student to be their personal best. It is my solid belief that each child is capable. For me, reward lies in watching a student's confidence grow week on week as they realise they can in fact do it. There is nothing like watching the lightbulb go off. I also have experience tutoring children with Special Needs and Autism.

About the lesson

I have good knowledge of what different schools require and the style of their exam papers. Once I have briefed the student on the above, I like to ask them what areas they currently struggle with, and make those priority. I come to each session with a general Lesson Plan, but a flexible approach is taken, whereby I tweak as we go along based on what it is revealed the student needs help with.

There is no such thing as a "silly" question! Any holes in knowledge are met with patience and understanding and only a desire to fill them. I can often be heard saying "there is a time we all don't know."

Homework will be given each week and marked the following.
